Google Pixel 11 Pro
By Muhammad Tahir · Updated August 2026 · how we review
Still the best compact flagship camera you can buy, and the 3,600-nit LTPO panel is a real step on — but Google raised the price to $1,099, cut the base RAM from 16GB to 12GB and swapped the excellent 42MP selfie camera for a 13MP ultra-wide, so this is a generation that gives and takes in equal measure.

Should you buy the Pixel 11 Pro in 2026?
Pros
- The full Pro camera rig — 50MP main on a large 1/1.3-inch sensor, 48MP ultra-wide and a 48MP 5x periscope — still fits a 6.3-inch, 204g body that almost nothing else this capable matches
- Seven years of OS and security updates run to August 2033, so the support window outlasts the realistic life of the battery by a wide margin
- The Super Actua panel now peaks at 3,600 nits and drops to 1Hz, making it both the brightest and the most power-efficient screen Google has shipped
- Tensor G6 moves to a 2nm process, bringing roughly 20% better efficiency, 25% faster browsing and 15% quicker app loads over the Tensor G5
- Pixel HiLight puts a colour notification LED on the camera bar that lights up when the phone is face down — a small, genuinely useful return of a feature phones lost a decade ago
Cons
- The 256GB model now ships with 12GB of RAM instead of the Pixel 10 Pro's 16GB — you have to buy the $1,219 512GB tier to get 16GB back, which reads as a price rise in disguise
- The 42MP autofocus selfie camera has been replaced by a 13MP ultra-wide; you gain a wider group-shot framing and lose a lot of detail
- At $1,099 it costs $100 more than the Pixel 10 Pro did at launch, in a year where the base model went up by the same amount
- 30W wired charging is untouched, and the Pro XL now charges at 45W — the smaller Pro is the slowest-charging phone in its own family

Frequently asked questions
How long will the Pixel 11 Pro be supported?
Google guarantees seven years of OS upgrades and seven years of security patches from the August 2026 launch, so the Pixel 11 Pro is covered through August 2033. That is the longest written commitment in Android and it applies to the whole Pixel 11 line, not just the Pro models.
Did Google really cut the RAM on the Pixel 11 Pro?
Yes. The Pixel 10 Pro started at 16GB; the Pixel 11 Pro starts at 12GB on the 256GB model, and 16GB only appears on the 512GB and 1TB tiers. For most people 12GB is plenty, but it is a genuine step back on a phone that also went up $100 in price.
How is the Pixel 11 Pro's selfie camera different?
Google replaced the Pixel 10 Pro's 42MP autofocus front camera with a 13MP ultra-wide. The wider field of view fits more people into a group shot without an arm extension, but you are giving up substantial resolution and detail in ordinary single selfies. It is the most contentious change in this generation.
Pixel 11 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro XL?
They share the chipset, RAM and storage tiers, cameras and the same 3,600-nit panel technology. The XL steps up to 6.8 inches, a 5,115mAh battery and 45W wired charging for $200 more. Choose the Pro if one-handed use matters; choose the XL if screen size, endurance and charging speed do.
Is the Pixel 11 Pro worth $1,099?
If you want a compact phone with a flagship periscope camera and support running to 2033, there is very little competition and it is worth it. If the camera is not the reason you are buying, the standard Pixel 11 keeps the same support window and a 5x telephoto for $200 less.
