Privacy Policy

The short version

PhoneLifespanis a static informational site. We don't require accounts, we don't ask for your name or email to use any tool, and our calculators run entirely in your browser — what you type into them is never sent to us. The one exception is our optional AI assistant: the question you type there is sent to our server and to Google's Gemini API to generate an answer, so don't type anything personal into it (details below). Otherwise, the only personal-data processing on this site relates to advertising and basic analytics, both described below and both subject to your consent where required.

What we collect

• Nothing you type.Tools like the Phone Finder, TrueCost calculator, and size comparison compute results in your browser. Shareable links encode your inputs in the URL you choose to share — we don't store them.
• Local preferences.Your cookie-consent choice is stored in your browser's localStorage (key pl-consent) so we don't ask again.
• Hosting logs. Our host (Vercel) processes standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) to deliver and secure the site.
• AI assistant questions. If you use the assistant, the text you type is processed on our server and sent to Google. We keep only an anonymized, aggregated log of the questions asked (with your IP address stored as a one-way hash, never in the clear) to see what people want and write better guides — see the next section.

Advertising & cookies

We may display ads served by Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, including personalized ads where you have consented. We implement Google Consent Mode v2: all advertising and analytics storage defaults to denied until you make a choice in our consent banner, and declining never limits your use of the site. In the EU/UK/EEA, personalized advertising runs only after explicit consent. To change your consent choice here, clear this site's data in your browser and revisit.

Analytics

We use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (page views, referrers, country-level location) to understand what content helps people. We do not build individual profiles, and analytics storage follows the same consent defaults described above.

AI assistant

Our optional chat assistant answers phone-buying questions using only our own verified database. When you send a message, the text is processed on our server and forwarded to Google's Gemini APIto phrase a short answer; the recommendations and links themselves always come from our database, not the model. Because we use Google's free tier, Google may use the content you send to improve its models, so please don't enter any personal, sensitive, or confidential information — treat it as a public question about phones. We never send Google your identity, and we store only an anonymized log (a hashed IP and the question text) to understand demand and improve our content. Your rights — GDPR (EU/UK)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection regarding personal data, and the right to withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal doesn't affect prior processing). Because we hold essentially no personal data ourselves, most requests will relate to ad partners — but email us at mtahirkaam@gmail.com and we'll help or point you to the right controller. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Your rights — CCPA/CPRA (California)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (which can include cookie-based ad personalization), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Declining our consent banner constitutes an opt-out of ad-personalization cookies on this site. For any request, email mtahirkaam@gmail.com.

Children

This site is general-audience phone-buying information and is not directed at children under 13. We knowingly collect no data from children.
