Until August 2032 — seven years of OS upgrades and seven years of security patches from its August 2025 release. Google was the first Android maker to commit to seven years and it applies the same window across the Pixel 10 line, including the a-series.

Qi2.2 is the wireless charging standard that adds magnetic alignment — the same idea as MagSafe — and raises the power ceiling to 25W on this phone. In practice it means accessories snap into place and charge reliably instead of needing careful positioning, and it opens up a large ecosystem of magnetic mounts and wallets. It is a genuine convenience upgrade over plain Qi.

For most people, no. You get the Tensor G5, a marginally bigger battery, Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging and one extra year of support. The screen and camera hardware are broadly comparable. Unless magnetic charging or that final year matters specifically to you, the discounted 9 Pro XL is much better value.

Two things, consistently. Computational photography — Google's processing produces reliably good results in difficult light with almost no user effort — and software integration, including call screening, live translation and on-device AI that runs without a network connection. What Pixels do not lead on is raw chip performance, charging speed or build materials, where Samsung and the Chinese brands are ahead.
