Physics. At 5.8mm thick there is simply less internal volume for a cell, so Samsung fitted 3,900mAh where the similarly sized S25+ carries 4,900mAh — around 20% less capacity. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is efficient enough that light and moderate users will still finish a day, but heavy users should expect to reach for a charger by evening.

No dedicated one. It has a 200MP main and a 12MP ultra-wide, and any zoom is a digital crop from that 200MP sensor. Because the sensor is so high-resolution, a 2x crop still yields a genuinely sharp 50MP-equivalent image — but past that, and in low light where cropping costs you signal, it falls well behind phones with real telephoto glass.

Until May 2032 — seven years of OS upgrades and seven years of security patches from its May 2025 release. It gets the same commitment as the rest of the S25 family, so the thin body costs you nothing in longevity terms.

More than you would expect. The frame is titanium, the front is Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and the back is Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and it carries a full IP68 rating for dust and immersion. Thin phones have historically raised bending concerns, and the titanium frame is Samsung's answer to that — but as with any glass-sandwich phone, a case is still sensible.

The S25+ is the more practical phone at around $50 less: a 4,900mAh battery, 45W charging instead of 25W, and a 3x optical telephoto. The Edge gives you the 200MP sensor, the titanium frame and a genuinely remarkable 5.8mm profile. Buy the Edge if the design is the point; buy the S25+ if you want the phone that will annoy you less.
